Considering the recent economic recovery and the reduction of economic and social problems
caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which offers the opportunity and the need to impose a
gradual return to a normal situation in the electricity and natural gas markets, as the debts
accumulated by domestic and non-household consumers to pay for electricity and natural gas
can no longer be sustained by the providers of these services, and the extension of the granted
facilities leads to major chain damages in the entire economy.
Should the alert be extended, the elimination of the negative macroeconomic impact of the
long-term application of protection measures for final customers of electricity and natural gas
would lead to the imminent increase in existing flows and prices for electricity and natural
gas.
Therefore, the cessation of services in the fields of electricity and / or natural gas
corresponding to the non-payment of outstanding debts registered by final customers during
the alert state and until its termination, can not be achieved earlier than 90 days from the date
of entry into force of this ordinance.
