State aid scheme “Support for investments in new forest areas” has been approved, providing for the granting of aid for afforestation under National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The scheme is implemented through Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests (MMAP) and Territorial Forest Guards (GF) and will be included in European Green Deal Initiative, part of European Union Biodiversity Strategy 2030.
Aim scheme is to provide financial support to public and private owners of land suitable for afforestation, as well as to their associations for afforestation of their land.
Beneficiary scheme can be any public and private owner of land suitable for land reparcelling, regardless of size, as well as their associations.
Beneficiaries submit in the software application developed by MMAP an application for support and a land consolidation project, which will be verified and technically approved by the GF. Applications may be submitted in a continuous session, from start of the scheme until the PNRR target is reached, but no later than 30 June 2026. Forest plantation created under scheme will be maintained for a minimum of 20 years from establishment, respecting the conditions relating to afforestation and maintenance of plantations.
