The order for amending and supplementing the norms for the application of the provisions of G.E.O. no. 158/2005, regarding leave and allowances for social health insurance, was recently adopted. Previously, they were approved by the order of the Minister of Health and the President of the National Health Insurance House, no. 15/2018/1311/2017.
The medical leave certificates that have been sent by means of distance transmission, constitute suppoting documents for payment, on the basis of which the amounts representing allowances paid by employers to their own employees are refunded. Their payment is supported from the budget of the Single National Health Insurance Fund.
Insured persons for whom the isolation measure has been instituted, in health units or in an alternative location attached to a health unit, benefit from medical leave for the entire period for which this measure was instituted.
For the insured person to whom the measure of isolation has been instituted in a health unit or in an alternative location attached to a health unit, and who can be discharged, will be issued the medical leave certificate for the duration of hospitalization by the attending physician of the hospital who cared for and discharged the patient. After discharge, the patient has the obligation to isolate at home or at the location declared by the person to be isolated and the attending physician may continue to grant medical leave until the maximum term of the isolation period or for a period established by him.
