Minimum occupational safety and health requirements apply if hazardous chemicals are
present or may be present at the workplace, in accordance with the provisions on radiation
protection measures applicable to chemicals, in accordance with the provisions of national
law transposing the directives adopted in in accordance with the Treaty establishing the
European Atomic Energy Communication.
For any chemical agent for which a reference value for occupational exposure is set at
European Union level, this value becomes a mandatory national reference value.
The employer must ensure that the risk to the safety and health of workers in the work
process induced by a hazardous chemical agent is eliminated or minimized. It is mandatory to
comply with the limit values for occupational exposure to chemical agents in the workplace,
respectively the tolerable biological limit values for workers while maintaining the
concentrations of chemical agents at the lowest possible level.
At the same time, the employer must maintain an inventory / register of the dangerous
chemical agents handled in the unit, which must contain the safety data sheets related to the
respective dangerous substances and mixtures.
